Terms of Service

Last updated August 9, 2026

These terms cover your use of Shortlist, operated by From Salt. By creating an account you agree to them.

Your account

You need an account to use Shortlist, you must be at least 13, and the information you give us should be accurate. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your login details to yourself.

What you post

The places you save, the notes you write, and the lists you build stay yours. By posting them you give us permission to store and display them within the product — including showing them to the people you choose to share them with. That permission exists so the app can function; it is not a transfer of ownership.

Do not post anything unlawful, harassing, or that infringes someone else's rights. We may remove content or suspend accounts that do.

Other people's content

Lists and recommendations from other people are theirs, not ours. We do not verify them, and a recommendation on Shortlist is an opinion rather than a guarantee about a place.

Place information

Details about places — addresses, hours, photos — come partly from Google and partly from people using the app. It can be wrong or out of date. Check before you rely on it for anything that matters.

Because Shortlist uses Google Maps features and content, that part of your use is also subject to the Google Maps End User Additional Terms of Service (opens in a new tab) and the Google Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab).

Beta software

Shortlist is early. Features change, things break, and we may lose data during this period despite our efforts not to. Please do not treat it as the only copy of anything you care about.

Ending things

You can delete your account whenever you want. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If we shut the service down, we will give you notice and a way to get your data out.

The legal part

Shortlist is provided “as is,” without warranties. To the extent the law allows, Gosselin Holdings, LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York.

Changes

If we change these terms materially, we will update the date at the top and let you know in the app before the change takes effect.
